This is a very large fancy antique Victorian German made cup or mug made for the English market between 1890-1900 with a central vignette of an 18th century courting couple and their dog in a garden.The oversized porcelain cup or mug has cobalt blur sponged decoration and was one overlaid with a metallic gold floral pattern with further gold trim.

The mug measures 4 inches high by 4.25 inches in diameter.

The mug has 3 feet and a wonderful twisted rope handle.

The mug is in very good used vintage condition with no chips or cracks but does have extensive gold wear.

The fancy cup or mug is un-marked but definitely made in Germany.

This attractive antique mug would also make a great flower vase or for pencils on a desk. Or how about a classy planter?
